This series has been entertaining for my son. The chapters are long enough to be challenging without being overwhelming. There are a few illustrations per chapter to break things up so they are a quick read for him. He is a little above average reading-wise, but I think a good reader of age 7 would probably be able to read these even though it would be a bit of a challenge.
My grandchildren love these as a quick read. The whole series has been very good to date. They are written on a lower level than where they are but the kids continue to read them because they connect from one story to the next. For the most part they read the whole book in one sitting before bed. My grandchildren, a boy and 3 girls ages 9 and 11, just think the stories are fun and enjoy the progression of the characters. Good for reading to young children as the dragons are not scary.
My daughter is 6 and this is the first series of chapter books that has really held her attention, she adores them. I like that there are boy and girl characters (though not a lot of female leadership in ye olde kingdom). I definitely recommend this series for early chapter book reading.
This was such a great great series of books we discovered for my 7 yeat old son. He read all 10 available books within a couple months of learning about this series. We are anxiously awaiting book 11 and 12 and hope there are many more to come!!
My kiddo likes this series. But she said she did not like that the rainbow dragon had to leave at the end of the book. Product was good and fun reading for kids. Looking forward to the next in the series.
My 2 boys (8 and 11 years) both love this entire series! When a new one comes out they bargain and trade all kinds of stuff to get be the one who reads it first!
My daughter totally SO love this book! This book totally her favorite series. She said this was the best book she had ever read. She loves the picture of the front cover with rainbow color!
My kids love this series. It is definitely not high literature but is is engaging enough to help transition them out of picture books.
