I am reasonably impressed with the content in this book, to help kickstart my recertification efforts (as many others have said, you need to augment your study with info from other sources).However, the technical review of this Cisco book is appalling! Seems to be a recurring theme with Cisco Press CCIE books that never gets addressed. As an example, the Foundation Summary for Chapter 4 of book one has the wrong diagrams! Is Figure 4-9 an IPv6 header or an IPv4 header. Is Figure 4-8 an IP header or an IPv6 address format? Of course a CCIE candidate should be able to work it out, but why doesn't one of the reviewers pick this up and address these errors before the book goes to print.

Unfortunately, the book is full of mistakes. You can find some corrections in their website. However, it's clear it lacks a good revision. I wonder if the Kindle version has the mistakes corrected. Keep in mind that you will need more reading than this two books since some topics are superficially explained.

I noticed that the books focus mainly in the blueprint from the CCIE R&S. By reading this book you will not become a CCIE or even get close to be able to pass the test. this book is meant to be a guide to CCIE candidates.Update Post:After reading the books cover to cover; I have found some great topics and some very weak and almost pointless chapters. The book VOL 1 starts with some very basic topics about IP addressing and frankly that was a waste of time as for CCIE you must know those topics by heart. it also flights through some topics by just giving definitions and letting you completely lost of what the technology do and why the topic was addressed there.The books VOL1 has a very nice explanations of IGP (EIGRP, OSPF and falls short in IS-IS). IS-IS is so important that was removed in the pass version and brought back to this exam.The book VOL2 falls short on BGP ( the books points mostly to theory than to configuration) but the second books that's a great job explaining Multicast. it is nicely and easily explained through the chapters (again theory wise) for configuration and troubleshooting you have to go with Doyle and the TCP IP Volumen II. The second books falls short on the rest of the chapters for most of its topics. I gives you a nice intro to MPLS; but it is very superficial.Security is also touched but mostly for the basic things as you will on the CCNA. Tunneling technologies were mostly conceptual. it gives you a good idea of shapping and QOS but does not deep into any of the topics.over all the books is good; but as mentioned in other post. you got to guess sometimes what the writer wanted to say as the typos are horrible all through the book. notice that some graphics are also incomplete. the book references the graphics and when you go back to the graphic there is not information about what the book says. some routers were label twice so the book mentions router 5 but there are two routers 4. you have to try and figure out which one is 5.please do read this books after you finish reading the Routing TCP/IP VOL 1 and 2. because of how technical those books are; I found it great to have slowly explained to me some of the concepts on the those books by the CCIE V5 Library.I hope you find this post helpful.

Sections of these books are very good, and Narbik has an excellent reputation as an instructor -- but this a disappointment as an "Official Cert Guide."When I took the CCIE v5.0 exam after using this book in my preparation, it felt as if I had studied for a very different test. Be aware that there are topics in the exam blueprint that are not covered in this book (or not covered in sufficient depth) and that there are topics covered in the book that are irrelevant to the test.You are better off starting with the exam blueprint and Googling each topic, or going through the CCIEorDie website. If you need a book to build your base knowledge of IP routing, try Doyle's book.

Excellent two-volume review set. Take it a chapter at a time. IT covers an immense amount of information quickly, but it also assumes (logically) that the reader has experience with routing and switching.

This is a story told through a series of vignettes of Breeze's new life. Things are never dull for Breeze and that's how he likes it. He shows us he is as adaptable to his mountain life as he did in the tropics. You won't be disappointed.

I enjoy reading Ed Robinson. Read everything he's published so far. Sort of like sitting down and listening while a friend spins a plausible tall tale. Fun book that ends too soon.

Thought I'd miss the trawler thing. Didn't happen. Ed Robinson proves to be masterful story teller no matter the environment. I remain addicted to this series. Keeps getting better.

I have read every book written by Robinson and have obviously enjoyed he work very much. This book however captivated me with an intrigue I hope to find in his next work . I'm waiting!

The Breeze books remain fun to read, even more so with Breeze now in my part of the world. I enjoy reading about places I know. It was the same with all Florida based books when I lived in Florida. I am looking forward to the next Breeze book and will buy it the first day It is available.

The book gives excellent insight into the lives of the 12 men Jesus chose to plant his church. Ordinary, nothing particularly special. MacArthur takes a few liberties in writing but sticks with the facts. Usually when he offers an idea or opinion he points that out. I enjoy his writing. Worth the read regardless. Why do the research when it's been done for you. Used this book while teaching the first 2 chapters of Mark.

Very well written in easy English - no post-doctorate theologian. My small group enjoyed this study very much and because of McArthur's easy writing style, I am sure we will look at more of his study guides. The accompanying workbook is also very much in depth, but was a huge aid to understanding the study.

Used this book for our group Bible Study. Everyone benefitted from MacArthur's teaching on the apostles. Helps you see that no matter what you do for a living or what station in life you were born into, you are God's hands and feet and made to magnify His glorious Name. Easy to read.

Perhaps I'm just not ready for this book. I am greatly preferential to books that "directly give guidance" on how to better live a Christian life. This book does not do this; rather you could infer inspiration by the ordinary who did lead extraordinary lives as Christians... or at least deepen your knowledge of the apostles. The book was also a little slow and redundant. Things that could be stated in 1 paragraph were shared in a page... It was not an easy book to "get into".I recommend this book for only for people who are extremely mature in their spiritual journey... such as pastors or theologians.

The author did an excellent job keeping my interest from beginning to end. He explained the different personality traits and backgrounds of the men in an understandable format. It amazes me how GOD used, and still uses, people from all walks of life and backgrounds to fulfill HIS purpose. I'm thankful my Pastor recommended this book.

Great book by the founder of the NCAA tournament. Well written and explains how it all came about.

Eddie Einhorn's vision made the popularity of college basketball expand geometrically. This is a must read for any serious college basketball fan.

Fans of college basketball will enjoy the information and stories provided in this book. The book is a collection of interviews, set forth in story format, in which the author met and interviewed with a number of significant figures in college basketball, including coaches, media, and players.There are many great stories here, and the book is divided up into different stories on the different personalities, so it makes for an accessible read. You can pick up the book, read one article, then put it down. I found the stories by the coaches to be among the most entertaining: Coach K, Roy Williams, Rick Pitino, Dean Smith, Guy Lewis and others all provide insightful stories.Also, the book puts college basketball in its historical context, with a focus on the first televised basketball game, UCLA vs. Houston, played in the Astrodome. Overall a very informative and entertaining book, I would strongly recommend it to any college basketball fan.

You can't put this book down. Interview after interview, you are amazed at the stories behind each legend. The best part is that this is basically a compliation of mini-autobiographies, but narrated as a conversation between good friends. The book starts with an interview with Rey Meyer - it reminds you how lucky the author was to have interviewed him before his passing away. You are also amazed at the hard work, passion and perseverance of Eddie Einhorn. If you love basketball (or even just "like" sports), this is the book for you.

The book itself is really intriguing and interesting, but when you combine the DVD with the book you really get to see what you have been reading about. It is really neat and I totally suggest this book to anyone.

I bought two copies of the book, over 3 years ago. The first was mine. I was so impressed I ordered a second copy as a gift to a friend. Of over 40 books on tango that I have bought, read and own, this is one of the most important, and it is one of my top-5. It may well be my desert island number 1 tango book.Siegmann is not a writer of obscure or esoteric nonsense. This work is clear and insightful and it is pure tango, though her language is often very beautiful, it is always personal and felt. When she discovered tango, she felt that she..."... [had] found the Holy Grail...I was conversing in some language of the soul that resided in a part of me I never knew existed ... I was consciously experiencing my female energy for the first time." (Pages 2-3)I am partly inspired to write a review of this intelligent and heart-warming treatise on tango because, at the time of writing, justice has not been done; there are no reviews on the English Amazon website, my home site, and, I hate to say it but I have heard awful and nonsensical hearsay, from a tango 'teacher' in the Welsh borders, that this book has nothing to do with tango. How far from the truth some will go to peddle jealous, spiteful lies! This book is absolutely at the heart of tango, and its content is sparkling: tango can be even more than a thing of just beauty and elegance - two fine assets indeed but in developing our connections within the dance, by understanding how masculine and feminine energies work, in both men and women, we can vastly improve our tango."All of tango's fancy steps are the artful rearrangement of three basic movements: the basic [walking] step, the ocho and the molinette. Everything else is a derivation or combination of these elements"(Page 7)This fine book is not intended as a guide for assisting absolute beginners to master basic steps, though it will inspire them towards better tango, one day; nor is it about teaching fancy figures. There is a lot more to tango than that! For absolute beginners, and 'improvers', even though this book is written from an advanced point of view, it is very accessible and an easy read. For neophyte, improving and/or intermediate dancers this tome is a tasty teaser of what pleasures lie ahead. Their tango dancing will benefit, one day, due to this work. It is best suited to intermediate and advanced dancers, upwards, and to teachers. It is from somewhere around that point that the author writes, from a time of saturation within tango, with years of classes and dancing behind her she found she wanted something more."Tango helps us get balanced because it requires the highest level of communication - without words. It also requires us to use both [female and male] energies and so develop them." (Page 13)Johanna Siegmann's book is a wonderful and touching treatise on tango. She calls it The Tao (pronounced `dow') of Tango because she treats the reader to a blend of the tango he or she already knows with an introduction to how male and female energies work, in both leaders and followers, during the dance. Eastern mysticism is not a big part of this book - in fact it hardly shows itself - so do not let that put you off. It is essentially a book about dancing tango but Siegmann has found a useful tag (as did Chan Park with "Tango Zen", another very worthwhile read Tango Zen: Walking Dance Meditation)that fits well with her psychoanalysis and spiritually-tinted presentation."In tango you move back and forth between both energies [male and female] almost unconsciously..." (Page 13) [and] "for the follower, to move correctly, she has to maintain her own balance, her own space, and her own independence - all of which are expressions of male energy in the follower" [whereas female energy in the leader manifests by allowing him to wait for his follower, by giving him the connection to her, and through lending him to imagination to lead the next step]. (Pages 48-49).It is clear that Johanna Siegmann has a lot of experience in tango, for she writes of it well, and knowledgeably. She honestly reveals her own flaws and facets; her obsessions and neuroses on and off the dance-floor. She writes openly of her years of development within tango. This is not a book by a doctor-psychlogist who talks down to his patients, nor is it by someone talking egoistically of him- or herself. Siegmann is among the most humble and thoughtful of tango writers; her thoughts are touching and incisive. She rightly addresses one of tango's key psychological challenges, the need to listen to one's instinct not one's ego (pages 51-52) but she also never loses sight of what's happening on the dancefloor, nor within the music. She reminds us that tango has more than one rhythmic layer, unlike simpler ballroom beats, in tango the leader may dance to a bass-line or a melody ... or even through an adagio (pages 25-26) or to the voice - as Carlos Gavito (RIP), the legendary tango dancer, also always stressed.Siegmann talks of the intrigue and social life in tango. She writes of the milonga scene, the classroom and the lessons and how they do nothing to combat a major obstacle to development within tango:"All the technique and classes in the world did not address the real problem ... as long as I placed my attention outwards [I ignored] the inner connection" (pages 94-95)She never loses sight of the basics of tango - always a good sign in an advanced dancer - and she reminds herself and her readers that the first keys to tango are the change of weight,"...even if it is extremely subtle it must be absolute" (page 54); and of the embrace,"...communication can only be accomplished through a close physical connection" (page 141), again echoing Carlos Gavito's words, "The embrace contains all of tango."The author reminds leaders that while they may lead steps, they must wait for the follower to interpret them - as long as she stays with the music! She is a salient observer and notes how one thing never changes in tango: no matter how many lessons people buy, how the elegant swans of the dance, once they have finished dancing, leave the floor as ugly ducklings; grace to chaos in 1 second flat, without fail, at every milonga.This is a charming and delightful book. It will warm your spirits. As a male tango leader I found these insights from a female follower invaluable. Every man, or leader, in tango should read this tome; and every follower in tango needs Siegmann's distillation of her years of experience too.Priceless. This deliciously light, but yet profoundly deep book should be required reading for individuals entering into, or struggling with relationships, whether in life or on the dance floor. The author richly captures the essence of the authentic Argentine Tango dance and the diverse energies that make it the communion between the souls. By taking the metaphor of this beautiful language and applying it to life and lessons learned and then completing it with exercises, she has aptly taken education to the next level through application. I have shared this gem with my partner and will be ordering more as gifts. I look forward to more writings from this very talented author. Susan Munoz

Great read

Ms. Siegmann deftly sheds light on this unique dance form from a spiritual/ metaphysical point of view. In particular, her distinction between male/female energy and behavior is a powerful concept that helps us provide a framework to better understand gender issues in our still somewhat patriarchal culture. She shows that tango can be treated as a metaphor for many areas in life, including a deeper understanding of our own natures.

This little book is not just about Tango , but about the delicate balance we all strive for in our every day relationships.It gives us permission to be who we are to express all of ourselves.And to re-joyce in being male and female.Excellent

Tango will change your life and this book tells you how and why.This is one of the best of many books on the subject of life transformation experienced by a very large number of people outside of Buenos Aires.Highly recommended.However, it has even greater meaning when you have attempted the Argentine Tango.So, hug a partner and dance with your heart.Abrazos!

This book could have been a least two thirds shorter. While it is an interesting concept, it keeps recycing the same info ove and over.
