Another good book. Good solid characters, mystery and intrigue. This is the second book in the series and I have enjoyed both, I liked the characters, although a couple of them were far from pleasant, and I really like watching how the hero and heroine grew as people and tackled the challenges they faced.I would have given this one 5stars but for one or two crucial missing pieces of the puzzle.The author never satisfactorily explained how Christie's grandmother, a woman universally despised in River's End, came to own the Stationmaster's cottage so she could leave it to Christie ... The stationmaster's cottage's history is so firmly rooted in Martin's family, and yet it's Christie who inherits the cottage from her grandmother. And it was never explained how the previous owners came to leave the trunk with the letters and painting in the attic, a trunk containing crucial family papers, despite ownership of the cottage going from Martin's grandfather to Christie's grandmother ...people who despised each other... it was a little too glib to be feasible and for me theses crucial plot -holes detracted from an otherwise enjoyable read.
Where do I start after I finished reading The Stationmaster, I couldn't wait to see what else she had written. I immediately bought Jasmine Sea not knowing it was a sequel to The Stationmaster! I so enjoyed both books and can't wait for your next one. I am a voracious reader and happened upon The Stationmaster by accident. What a find. As your first novels, let me tell you that you hit them both out of the park. Look forward to seeing you next and will keep your name on my "books to look for" list.
Jasmine Sea: A River's End Love Story. Book TwoBy author Phillipa Nefri Clark.This tale takes on where The Stationmaster's Cottage (River's End Romance Book 1) left off. A reader would stay glued to the pages till the very end. The story flows fluidly and took me to heart breaking tension and breathtaking thrills.It was an amazing adventure to be a part of the magic in Jasmine Sea, even for a little while! It has got it all...action, humor, pulse-raising suspense and heart-melting warmth.
The perfect follow-up to "The Stationmaster's Cottage", "Jasmine Sea" does not disappoint. Without giving any spoilers, you'll love the continuing romance between Christie and Martin, learn more about Christie's scurrilous ex, and discover the crescendoing drama taking place in Rivers End all leads to a heart-pounding and page turning climax. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it!
Second in the series did not disappoint. Another great read that totally captured my attention as the story continued on. The characters are very easy to follow, the description of the sleepy seaside village gives the reader a vivid image, and even the villains are entertaining. I’m currently reading “The Secrets of Palmerston Houseâ€, the third of the series, and it, too, continues to be a very exciting read.
I have both of these books. You are very talented. I am an avid reader and when I read I visualize the characters as I read. The people in these books are so wonderful. I hope to read more of your book's. Thank you.
The story itself is enjoyable, and while I find Christie way too annoying, the rest of the characters were well worked out. The reason why I only give 3 stars is the utter lack of editing/proofreading. The amount of missing words, typos, and missing punctuation marks is unacceptable, and I wish the author would put more effort into finding good proofreaders.
this story started out with great expectations, but toward the end I finished it without reading the completestory, Talk about predictable, this is one story that came to the obvious end.
