I love the way Ed Robinson brings you into the stories of his books. What would I do is a constant thought as I read. Love learning about the mountains and how Breeze and Brody are adapting to life apart from their boat. Excellent read, makes me want to read more!!

This is a story told through a series of vignettes of Breeze's new life. Things are never dull for Breeze and that's how he likes it. He shows us he is as adaptable to his mountain life as he did in the tropics. You won't be disappointed.

I enjoy reading Ed Robinson. Read everything he's published so far. Sort of like sitting down and listening while a friend spins a plausible tall tale. Fun book that ends too soon.

Thought I'd miss the trawler thing. Didn't happen. Ed Robinson proves to be masterful story teller no matter the environment. I remain addicted to this series. Keeps getting better.

I have read every book written by Robinson and have obviously enjoyed he work very much. This book however captivated me with an intrigue I hope to find in his next work . I'm waiting!

The Breeze books remain fun to read, even more so with Breeze now in my part of the world. I enjoy reading about places I know. It was the same with all Florida based books when I lived in Florida. I am looking forward to the next Breeze book and will buy it the first day It is available.

I really am enjoying the adventures that Breeze and brody are having in the mountains I can't wait to see what will happen next

I have enjoyed all Breezes adventures and this one was just as good. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

The book is good as far as the contents and intentions, but it’s extremely too long. If you’re one of those who loves to read then that’s fine, but I like to get to the point. Also, if you don’t have an extremely high college vocabulary, you’re gonna spend more time in the dictionary than the book. I have quit reading because of this, not everyone has the ability to to have a huge vocabulary. I feel that any time you give direction, guidance or any kind of advice in Christ or anything related to understanding the nature of, it should be written or explained so that everyone, including people who haven’t been to college, can understand it. I apologize if I sound rude, but I feel this way because I want everyone to learn about Christ and books like this one makes it difficult when it should be easy. So, that’s why I’m not recommending this book to anyone. If you’re looking for a good book that easier to understand check out “god’s at war”, also on Amazon.

The book gives excellent insight into the lives of the 12 men Jesus chose to plant his church. Ordinary, nothing particularly special. MacArthur takes a few liberties in writing but sticks with the facts. Usually when he offers an idea or opinion he points that out. I enjoy his writing. Worth the read regardless. Why do the research when it's been done for you. Used this book while teaching the first 2 chapters of Mark.

Very well written in easy English - no post-doctorate theologian. My small group enjoyed this study very much and because of McArthur's easy writing style, I am sure we will look at more of his study guides. The accompanying workbook is also very much in depth, but was a huge aid to understanding the study.

Used this book for our group Bible Study. Everyone benefitted from MacArthur's teaching on the apostles. Helps you see that no matter what you do for a living or what station in life you were born into, you are God's hands and feet and made to magnify His glorious Name. Easy to read.

Perhaps I'm just not ready for this book. I am greatly preferential to books that "directly give guidance" on how to better live a Christian life. This book does not do this; rather you could infer inspiration by the ordinary who did lead extraordinary lives as Christians... or at least deepen your knowledge of the apostles. The book was also a little slow and redundant. Things that could be stated in 1 paragraph were shared in a page... It was not an easy book to "get into".I recommend this book for only for people who are extremely mature in their spiritual journey... such as pastors or theologians.

The author did an excellent job keeping my interest from beginning to end. He explained the different personality traits and backgrounds of the men in an understandable format. It amazes me how GOD used, and still uses, people from all walks of life and backgrounds to fulfill HIS purpose. I'm thankful my Pastor recommended this book.

Well written, easy to read, and full of good information. This book presents the apostles as Jesus saw them and as they were, twelve ordinary men.

This book has an indepth analysis of 12, the author presents a scintillating account, and describes how each one was ordinary but unique and fit for purpose. This is a great text for all those who want to understand in depth the Lord s interaction with His disciples.

All this was about to change as a young TV executive named Eddie Einhorn traveled the nation, selling his revolutionary idea of broadcasting college basketball games. Einhorn built his TV network team by team, conference by conference, and station by station until eventually he found himself beating the major networks, stealing their audiences, and proving to skeptics that the game was about to explode on the national consciousness. Einhorn achieved his greatest success with the first primetime telecast of a college basketball game, the historic contest between Houston and UCLA in the Astrodome in 1968. Great book by the founder of the NCAA tournament. Well written and explains how it all came about.

Eddie Einhorn's vision made the popularity of college basketball expand geometrically. This is a must read for any serious college basketball fan.

Fans of college basketball will enjoy the information and stories provided in this book. The book is a collection of interviews, set forth in story format, in which the author met and interviewed with a number of significant figures in college basketball, including coaches, media, and players.There are many great stories here, and the book is divided up into different stories on the different personalities, so it makes for an accessible read. You can pick up the book, read one article, then put it down. I found the stories by the coaches to be among the most entertaining: Coach K, Roy Williams, Rick Pitino, Dean Smith, Guy Lewis and others all provide insightful stories.Also, the book puts college basketball in its historical context, with a focus on the first televised basketball game, UCLA vs. Houston, played in the Astrodome. Overall a very informative and entertaining book, I would strongly recommend it to any college basketball fan.

You can't put this book down. Interview after interview, you are amazed at the stories behind each legend. The best part is that this is basically a compliation of mini-autobiographies, but narrated as a conversation between good friends. The book starts with an interview with Rey Meyer - it reminds you how lucky the author was to have interviewed him before his passing away. You are also amazed at the hard work, passion and perseverance of Eddie Einhorn. If you love basketball (or even just "like" sports), this is the book for you.

The book itself is really intriguing and interesting, but when you combine the DVD with the book you really get to see what you have been reading about. It is really neat and I totally suggest this book to anyone.

This promises to be THE book on the NCAA college basketball tournament - all the stats, matchups, insights and interviews we've been craving since March Madness became 'The Spring Superbowl.'

I bought two copies of the book, over 3 years ago. The first was mine. I was so impressed I ordered a second copy as a gift to a friend. Of over 40 books on tango that I have bought, read and own, this is one of the most important, and it is one of my top-5. It may well be my desert island number 1 tango book.Siegmann is not a writer of obscure or esoteric nonsense. This work is clear and insightful and it is pure tango, though her language is often very beautiful, it is always personal and felt. When she discovered tango, she felt that she..."... [had] found the Holy Grail...I was conversing in some language of the soul that resided in a part of me I never knew existed ... I was consciously experiencing my female energy for the first time." (Pages 2-3)I am partly inspired to write a review of this intelligent and heart-warming treatise on tango because, at the time of writing, justice has not been done; there are no reviews on the English Amazon website, my home site, and, I hate to say it but I have heard awful and nonsensical hearsay, from a tango 'teacher' in the Welsh borders, that this book has nothing to do with tango. How far from the truth some will go to peddle jealous, spiteful lies! This book is absolutely at the heart of tango, and its content is sparkling: tango can be even more than a thing of just beauty and elegance - two fine assets indeed but in developing our connections within the dance, by understanding how masculine and feminine energies work, in both men and women, we can vastly improve our tango."All of tango's fancy steps are the artful rearrangement of three basic movements: the basic [walking] step, the ocho and the molinette. Everything else is a derivation or combination of these elements"(Page 7)This fine book is not intended as a guide for assisting absolute beginners to master basic steps, though it will inspire them towards better tango, one day; nor is it about teaching fancy figures. There is a lot more to tango than that! For absolute beginners, and 'improvers', even though this book is written from an advanced point of view, it is very accessible and an easy read. For neophyte, improving and/or intermediate dancers this tome is a tasty teaser of what pleasures lie ahead. Their tango dancing will benefit, one day, due to this work. It is best suited to intermediate and advanced dancers, upwards, and to teachers. It is from somewhere around that point that the author writes, from a time of saturation within tango, with years of classes and dancing behind her she found she wanted something more."Tango helps us get balanced because it requires the highest level of communication - without words. It also requires us to use both [female and male] energies and so develop them." (Page 13)Johanna Siegmann's book is a wonderful and touching treatise on tango. She calls it The Tao (pronounced `dow') of Tango because she treats the reader to a blend of the tango he or she already knows with an introduction to how male and female energies work, in both leaders and followers, during the dance. Eastern mysticism is not a big part of this book - in fact it hardly shows itself - so do not let that put you off. It is essentially a book about dancing tango but Siegmann has found a useful tag (as did Chan Park with "Tango Zen", another very worthwhile read Tango Zen: Walking Dance Meditation)that fits well with her psychoanalysis and spiritually-tinted presentation."In tango you move back and forth between both energies [male and female] almost unconsciously..." (Page 13) [and] "for the follower, to move correctly, she has to maintain her own balance, her own space, and her own independence - all of which are expressions of male energy in the follower" [whereas female energy in the leader manifests by allowing him to wait for his follower, by giving him the connection to her, and through lending him to imagination to lead the next step]. (Pages 48-49).It is clear that Johanna Siegmann has a lot of experience in tango, for she writes of it well, and knowledgeably. She honestly reveals her own flaws and facets; her obsessions and neuroses on and off the dance-floor. She writes openly of her years of development within tango. This is not a book by a doctor-psychlogist who talks down to his patients, nor is it by someone talking egoistically of him- or herself. Siegmann is among the most humble and thoughtful of tango writers; her thoughts are touching and incisive. She rightly addresses one of tango's key psychological challenges, the need to listen to one's instinct not one's ego (pages 51-52) but she also never loses sight of what's happening on the dancefloor, nor within the music. She reminds us that tango has more than one rhythmic layer, unlike simpler ballroom beats, in tango the leader may dance to a bass-line or a melody ... or even through an adagio (pages 25-26) or to the voice - as Carlos Gavito (RIP), the legendary tango dancer, also always stressed.Siegmann talks of the intrigue and social life in tango. She writes of the milonga scene, the classroom and the lessons and how they do nothing to combat a major obstacle to development within tango:"All the technique and classes in the world did not address the real problem ... as long as I placed my attention outwards [I ignored] the inner connection" (pages 94-95)She never loses sight of the basics of tango - always a good sign in an advanced dancer - and she reminds herself and her readers that the first keys to tango are the change of weight,"...even if it is extremely subtle it must be absolute" (page 54); and of the embrace,"...communication can only be accomplished through a close physical connection" (page 141), again echoing Carlos Gavito's words, "The embrace contains all of tango."The author reminds leaders that while they may lead steps, they must wait for the follower to interpret them - as long as she stays with the music! At this point the follower is in control and the leader must submit but, once again, for emphasis, as long as the follower stays with the music!"When the lead is done correctly, the leader creates a space for the follower to flow into" (page 47)One of the bravest parts of the book is the author's treatment of the drama, the passion, the intrigue between two dancers; the `look', that exists between two people whilst in the `zone'; and how not to mis-read passion in the dance for intentions off the dance-floor; but, also how to benefit from the frisson of passionate drama during a dance ... and, what not to do whilst dancing!Siegmann has an enchanted mind's-eye as well as a wonderful way with words. She recalls ephemeral moments from her tango memories and transcribes them well in memoir-style. She is a salient observer and notes how one thing never changes in tango: no matter how many lessons people buy, how the elegant swans of the dance, once they have finished dancing, leave the floor as ugly ducklings; grace to chaos in 1 second flat, without fail, at every milonga.This is a charming and delightful book. It will warm your spirits. As a male tango leader I found these insights from a female follower invaluable. Every man, or leader, in tango should read this tome; and every follower in tango needs Siegmann's distillation of her years of experience too.Priceless. This deliciously light, but yet profoundly deep book should be required reading for individuals entering into, or struggling with relationships, whether in life or on the dance floor. The author richly captures the essence of the authentic Argentine Tango dance and the diverse energies that make it the communion between the souls. By taking the metaphor of this beautiful language and applying it to life and lessons learned and then completing it with exercises, she has aptly taken education to the next level through application. Ms. Siegmann deftly sheds light on this unique dance form from a spiritual/ metaphysical point of view. In particular, her distinction between male/female energy and behavior is a powerful concept that helps us provide a framework to better understand gender issues in our still somewhat patriarchal culture. She shows that tango can be treated as a metaphor for many areas in life, including a deeper understanding of our own natures.

I've read quite a few popular psychology books from both sociological and business perspectives, and often do so to further understand the connections between the deeper academic content the books are based on. In the case of Friend & Foe, Galinsky and Schweitzer provide a flowing, comprehensive, and fascinating narrative on top of a difficult set of concepts. I highly suggest the book for anyone generally interested in social psychology, as well as those looking for evidence-based stories that teach the ins and outs of navigating difficult social tasks that often occur in business and politics.Please note: This book implicitly requests a commitment from the reader to understand and think about the context behind why people cooperate or compete. While the information alone is interesting, only those who treat Friend & Foe as an intellectual endeavor will truly learn and thus benefit. At the core of our work is the relationships we have with our colleagues, whether equals, bosses or employees. The best "win" is when we can develop these relationships to achieve a goal. Adam Galinsky and Maurice Schweitzer have put together a book where each chapter builds upon the previous chapters to highlight critical take home messages on how we behave in the real world and ways we can improve our outcomes. (I have already incorporated the power position to get myself ready for a big meeting.) The book is easy to read and does a great job of combining real world stories with research either completed by the authors or other experts. From the beginning of a relationship to the completion of the deal, this book provides helpful guidance on how to successfully compete in today's world but also how to live within it. These lessons are not just for the workplace but will help you in your life outside of work, as the authors point out throughout the book. Finally, as a father of 3 daughters, I will be sure to suggest each one reads the chapter on being a woman in the workplace.(Chapter 4) The authors have done a great job of highlighting the inequalities woman face but also offer strategies on how to hopefully gain some equal footing.

I enjoyed this book - I can't believe how quick a read it is and really appreciate the care the authors have invested in making academic research intellectually accessible to the time-strapped and instantly applicable to everyday business. What I am particularly grateful for is the discussion on hierarchies and power differences - these are sensitive topics that even the most self-aware business people are leery of approaching but are total roadblocks in decision-making and team happiness - everyone comes up with their own heuristics on how to handle this and they are not apt for every situation so nuanced recommendation of perspective-taking not merely of others but the task at hand - is it brainstorming? is it execution? are valuable ways to move forward without being mired by people issues. I think it was brave of the authors to treat the subject with such directness - the only other author I have read who discusses things as frankly is Peter Thiel and this is no mean comp!

Although many of the ideas the book explains seem logical after you read them, I believe it is one of the few books that systematically discusses this topic of cooperation and cooperation, the key idea being that every human interaction is a dynamic combination of both. The book is easy to read yet offers good insights and backs up its advice on different studies duly referenced. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to understand better how to interact not only in negotiations but in everyday life.

The book draws on rigorous cutting edge research and illustrates its relevance. I would recommend the book to practitioners who look for a well grounded discussion of how to get ahead in their careers, how to improve negotiating etc. I would also recommend the book to academics as the book provides a wonderful avenue to learn about recent research. Motivated by the book I went on to read some of the original papers.

I not only enjoyed this book, but found the lessons from it useful in my everyday life. The writing was easy to understand, but also sufficiently sophisticated. I very much enjoyed that each chapter used engaging and entertaining anecdotes to illustrate points backed by rigorous research - something that many pop science books fail to adequately do. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the science behind many important everyday social interactions. I suspect that readers with a general interest in popular science will be rewarded for picking up this book too.

As a serving wench in the King's Feast Hall at the Texas Renaissance Faire, I am asked all sorts of questions about the food, the utensils, the beverages, and anything having to do with food and feasting during King Henry VIII's time. "Food and Feast in Tudor England" is not only enjoyable to read (i.e. more than just a dry recitation of the facts), but highly informative as well. Each chapter covers a various aspect such as Food and Society in the 16th Century, Kitchens and Kitchen Equipment, Health and Diet, and Tableware to name a few. As with her other books, Alison Sim has written this book in an interesting, informative, easy-to-digest manner. In addition to knowledge for knowledge's sake, this book is a must-have for anyone involved in Tudor/Renaissance role-playing. When I answer the feast hall patrons' questions, I will be giving them facts and not something made-up!

This book gives a detailed insight into the food eaten in Tudor England, Shakespeare and his players would have eaten this food. If you have visited Hampton Court Palace and seen the kitchens, you can now discover what they cooked here and why there was such a large number of people employed in preparing and cooking meals. Henry and his court were very fond of eating, we can see this from successsive portraits of the King, they also loved feasting and carousing. This book shows how they fuelled their energy. It also gives insight into the range of food stuffs that had become available to wealthy people.

Another reviewer noted that this is a shorter work, and it is, though I think that's actually a good thing: too much detail might be too much to absorb! There's some slight repetition here and there but on the whole this is a fun and engaging look at some of the inner workings of Tudor society.Nonfiction often glosses over some of these details (maybe assuming that they're less interesting to the reader somehow?) but in fact, this knowledge isn't obscure: it serves to paint a clearer picture of the way in which society functioned!

This is a fascinating read. I thought it was another book on medeival food recipies but it's so much more. It talks about food and drink and eating and drinking during the Tudor era (Henry VIII rather than say Henry VII). Very fascinating read, I heartily recommend it.

This was a wonderful and informative look at "real life" in Tudor England. I like all of Sims books because she goes into the details other historians often leave out because they are exploring bigger political/social issues.

If you are interested in Tudor England this is a fun book to read. We learn a lot about a society by studying how they enjoyed themselves. The book is short but filled with data.

It was ok book but it wasn't what I thought it be! I wanted to know what they ate w recipes etc what I thought it was about! Guess I need to read descriptions better in future!

This book has so much great information about what the kitchen in Tudor times was like, and how they approached food.
